Terms & Conditions of Entry
The Promoter is British Tourist Authority trading as VisitBritain, Level 3, Suite 2, 32 Walker Street, North Sydney, NSW 2060, Australia. Information on how to enter forms part of these conditions of entry and entry is deemed acceptance of them
1. The Promotion opens at 5pm on January 19th 2009 and closes 5pm on January 29th 2009. Entries received after 5pm (NZT) on this date will not be eligible for entry.
2. Entry is open to all New Zealand residents aged 18 years or older except employees and immediate families of the Promoter, their agencies and printers.
3. The Promotion is open to individual persons only.
4. Only one entry per person. Duplicate entries will be disqualified. Only entries submitted via the online entry form will be accepted. Copies by post will not be accepted.
5. To enter the Promotion and to be eligible for selection, participants must log onto www.altalbion.co.nz and register their details and must otherwise comply with these terms and conditions. Failure to provide all the requested information will render the entry invalid. Incorrect, incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be ineligible to enter.
6. The Promoter will select three (3) candidates for interview from the valid applications received. Selection will be made at the offices of VisitBritain by 5pm (NZT) on January 30th 2009. Face to face interviews will take place at the G2 offices on February 4th and 5th 2009. Selection of the winning candidate will be announced on 6th February 2009.
7. The trip consists of a 12 day tour around the United Kingdom, departing Auckland February 11th 2009 and departing London for Auckland on February 22nd 2009. The selected candidate must be available to travel on these dates. The selected candidate will receive economy flights, accommodation and transport to and from accommodation stipulated within the itinerary, and at the discretion of the promoter. The promoter reserves the right to change the itinerary at any time and without notice with no expense to itself. The successful candidate has no say relating to any expenses that are not approved in advance by the promoter. Any expenses incurred by any member of the tour party that have not been explicitly approved in line with these terms and conditions will not be eligible for reimbursement. The trip has an approximate value of NZ$13,850 including G.S.T.
8. The selected candidate must ensure that they have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the traveller/s. The selected candidate is responsible for arranging their own travel insurance.
9. The selected candidate is responsible for transport from their residence to Auckland International Airport and must arrive within the stated check-in time stipulated by the airline and confirmed by the itinerary. Late check-in may affect your ability to travel and render the trip null and void.
10. Accommodation selection, location and room type and air carrier selection and routing are at the sole discretion of the Promoter. Twin-share accommodation will apply in all cases. Accommodation is defined as bed-only with a subsistence allowance for meals being included and remains at the discretion of the promoter. No other incidental costs such as newspapers, telephone, room service, parking, transport and sundry disbursements are covered. The promoter has absolute discretion to decline any payment.
11. If for any reason whatsoever the selected candidate is unable to take any element of the trip at the time specified by the Promoter, then that element of the trip in its entirety will be forfeited by the selected candidate and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the trip.
12. The selected candidate may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
13. The trip is not transferable to another individual and is not exchangeable or redeemable for cash, goods or services. The trip is not refundable. The selected candidate cannot change, vary, substitute or extend any element of the trip (in whole or in part).
14. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the trip. Independent financial advice should be sought.
15. The Promoter reserves the right to require the selected candidate to provide proof of identification and/or proof of residency or address details in order to claim the trip. Proof of identification, residency and address considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. If a selected candidate cannot provide suitable proof, that selected candidate will forfeit the trip in whole and no substitute or cash will be awarded in lieu of the trip.
16. If an entrant’s contact details change during the Promotional period, the entrant must promptly notify the Promoter of the relevant change. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be in writing and directed to Promoter.
17. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained as a result of taking the trip except for any liability, which cannot be excluded by law.
18. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process. The Promoter is not responsible for any technical malfunctions or problems with the internet or network congestion, including injury or damage to a participant’s or any other person’s computer related to participation in this Promotion and problems with transmission of entries over the internet.
19. To the extent permitted by law, if for any reason this Promotion is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to take any action that may be available to it, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion subject to any government regulation.
20. By accepting the trip, the selected candidate agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the trip, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the trip. The successful candidate will be required to produce daily blogs for altalbion.co.nz, this is a condition of entry. All submissions by the selected candidate (imagery/video/copy etc.) are the property of VisitBritain and no consideration will be entered into for their usage.
21. Personal information collected by the Promoter for the purposes of the Promotion will only be used in connection with the Promotion. At the conclusion of the Promotion, all entries will be destroyed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993. Until that time, entries will be held by the Promoter at Level 2, 1 Cross Street, Newton, Auckland, New Zealand. . You have the rights of access to, and the right to request correction of, your personal information.
22. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
