Shoreditch

By day Shoreditch is a pleasant wee area, with interesting lanes, street art, cafes and a rad bookstore (Artwords). By night it is another beast all together. The streets fill up, becoming pumping conduits of people having a marvelous time at a million tiny clubs.

One of these is Jaguar Shoes. In a former life DreamBagsJaguarShoes was a footwear store. Today it is a is a cool bar that is completely re-designed every few months when a new artist or artists take it over. Good fun. But please, don’t attempt to make any  shoe purchases. While I was there it was an ode to cute illustrations… oh and suspender wearing boys with beautifully groomed facial hair. A paradise for fashion lovers.

Another recommended bar in the land of the handsome folk is Cargo. By night, it was all go under the SCARY bridge of Shoreditch, with several hundred people lined up for the club. It has a fabulous 7 day a week line up, for example School of Seven Bells played there last night. Sadly I didn’t make it there, being a wimpy New Zealander dying from the cold, but next time!
